eBay Announced the 3rd Quarter Financial Results. Annual active buyers decreased by 5%

On October 27, a major online shopping company US eBay announced its financial results for the 3rd quarter of 2021. Sales increased 11% from the same period of the previous year to 2.5 billion dollars (Approximately 282.8 billion yen), net income was 283 million dollars (approximately 32 billion yen), and GMV (guaranteed minimum value) decreased 10% from the same period of the previous year to 19.5 billion dollars (approximately 2.2056 trillion yen). The company is saying that it has reduced its annual active buyers by 5% and now has 154 million global buyers. eBay is focusing on expanding "Managed Payments," the use of its unique payment service for sellers worldwide, with all sellers expected to complete the transition later this year. In the 3rd quarter, more than 90% of transactions on platforms around the world were processed by their payment services, migrating more than 18 million sellers globally.
