Rakuten will add 11 distribution centers by 2023

On June 15th, Rakuten Group, a major online shopping company, announced that it will establish new distribution centers in Fukuoka and Osaka prefectures as distribution bases for its online shopping site "Rakuten Ichiba." In addition, in order to meet the increasing demand in Rakuten Ichiba, it is planning to build a distribution center in Hachioji, Tokyo. Both centers are planned to start operations in 2023. According to the Nihon Keizai Shimbun, by launching a distribution company jointly funded with Japan Post in July, the company is adding 8 new distribution centers under its influence, and plans to be a total of 11 distribution centers by 2023.
