Amazon has been Criticized for Unfair Practices in India
On October 13, Reuters, a British news agency, reported that Amazon has been tampering with search results in order to manufacture imitations in the Indian market and increase sales of its own private label. Amazon has announced that the report was false. However, they have not explained the details. As a result, criticisms to the company have been gathered in both the United States and India. Senator Elizabeth Warren has called for the company to be dismantled, and Ken Buck, a member of the US House of Representatives antitrust committee said that Amazon must be accountable. In India, "The Confederation of All Indian Traders," a representative group of Indian retailers, has insisted on the government beginning an investigation into the Amazon.
